Jay Manalo: “Draftee na ako sa US Navy.”
JAY MANALO – The award-winning actor revealed that he was supposed to be part of the US Navy but unfortunately, something happened which made him decide to enter the entertainment industry.
His showbiz career started via Viva in the 1990s when he starred in the film Brat Pack with Gary Estrada.
This was followed by his numerous films until he received acting awards.
He last appeared on television via the Kapamilya series, “Mea Culpa: Sino Ang May Sala” in 2019.
In an interview with Push, he admitted that his real dream was to become the US Navy.
“Draftee na ako sa US Navy, naiwan lang ako ng barko noon sa Subic, 1992 yon, birthday ko mismo. Ilang buwan ko ring iniyakan yon kasi ang tagal kong in-apply yon, US Navy. Tapos biglang naiwanan ako ng barko,” he said.
When he became an actor, he also ventured into playing basketball but because of an accident, he chose to stay with acting.
Jay Manalo has 12 kids but he is discouraging them to enter the show business.
“Kasi nade-defocus once na nakatikim na ng either fame or fortune. Nawawala na yung pokus sa pag-aaral. Maraming ganon, eh,” he explained.
