Carl Guevarra of The Juans gives update about his condition
CARL GUEVARRA – The vocalist of the Filipino pop-rock band, The Juans, revealed that he is battling with alopecia areata.
Recently, he went to the micro-blogging site, Twitter wherein he shared about his condition.
He wrote: “ALOPECIA AREATA is an autoimmune condition where my immune system attacks my own hair follicles. Several factors affect it and there is no known cure apart from anti-inflammatory modulators through steroids. Im posting this to raise awareness & remove the stigma around it.”
Carl Guevarra shared in the next series of tweets the psychological trauma he has to deal with because of his condition.
The Juans vocalist also shared photos of his bald patches way back in 2016 and last year.
He noted: “Not only are injections painful, the overall treatment (creams, topical meds, diet requirements) are hella expensive. So with that, prayers and kindness will be very much appreciated.”
Carl Guevarra remains optimistic despite his condition.
The singer also gave few words of encouragement to people with alopecia.
