Korina Sanchez says husband Mar Roxas will not run in the upcoming elections
Mar Roxas has no plans to run in the 2022 national elections, according to his wife Korina Sanchez.
In an interview with the Rated Korina host on Cristy Ferminute last June 16, she was asked if her husband had any plans to enter politics again.
She said: “I don’t know but, you know, kapag natatanong ko siya, sabi niya talagang hindi, e.”
“Minsan sumagot kami ng isang form, kasi ini-enroll ang mga anak sa online school. So sabi, ‘O, ano ang ilalagay ko rito sa work… occupation?”
She added: “Sabi nya sa akin, ‘Ilagay mo diyan, retired.’ Sabi ko naman, ‘Feeling mo lolo ka, ganun?’ Sabi naman niya uli, ‘Semi-retired.'”
According to the veteran broadcaster, one does not need a position to help others.
At the moment, they are busy helping in some community pantries.
Mar Roxas has already run in three national elections. Unfortunately, he lost.
In 2010, Makati City Mayor Jejormar Binay defeated him in the vice-presidential race.
In 2016, Mar ran for the presidency but was defeated by former Davao City Mayor but now incumbent President Rodrigo Duterte.
In the 2019 elections, Mar Roxas ran for senator again but he was not lucky enough to make it into the Top 12.
