A Pinay just made her family and the country proud after graduating from the University of Houston in Texas, US as Magna Cum Laude.
Angelica de Jesus happily shared on social media that finally, after 5 years of hard work, she has finished her course with the degree on Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering, Minor in Energy and Sustainability in the prestigious university.
Aside from bringing home the Magna Cum Laude honor, she was also given recognition from the Honors College.
According to de Jesus, “burning her eyebrows” for 5 years in order to finish h course was worth it.
“Burn the eyebrows” is an idiomatic expression meaning to study hard through the night.

She is also grateful to her family and friends for their support.
She said she was lucky that she did not experience bullying or racial discrimination since it was widespread especially in America.
