Luis Manzano: “E, siyempre, tinawagan ko muna si Billyboy, nagpaalam muna ako kung okey lang”
Luis Manzano shared that he talked to Billy Crawford before accepting the hosting job for Your Face Sounds Familiar.
He is currently gearing up as the new host of the third season of Your Face Sounds Familiar which will air starting February 20, on Kapamilya Channel and other ABS-CBN platforms.
Billy Crawford is the original host of Kapamilya Network’s singing and impersonation competition.
Luis replaced Billy after he moved to Brightlight Productions as the main host of Laugh Out Loud, the noontime variety show aired on TV5.
But before accepting the hosting job, he shared that he consulted Billy Crawford about it.
“Dati po kay Billyboy ‘to, ipinaalam ito. Nung sinabi sa akin ng ABS-CBN, ‘Luis, favor, pwede ikaw ang gumawa ng Your Face…’ E, siyempre, tinawagan ko muna si Billyboy, nagpaalam muna ako kung okey lang kay Billyboy,” he said.
“Si Billyboy, sobra naman. Sabi niya, ‘Kung ang mga show ko sa ABS-CBN ay mapupunta sa ibang tao, gusto ko ikaw talaga ang gumawa. So, thank you, Billyboy,” he added.
When asked about the changes he will make as the host of Your Face Sounds Familiar, Luis left the answer to the management of ABS-CBN.
“Hindi ko alam, e. I think it’s more of… ang management ang dapat sumagot dahil magkaiba, although may similarities, iba rin ang kulit namin ni Billyboy,” he said.
“Kung papaano niya ini-host ang Your Face Sounds Familiar. I guess, it’s up for the production, the jury, to answer kung ano yung difference ng dynamics naming lahat,” he added.
Luis Manzano is hoping to bring fun to the new show that will once again test his skills as a host.
