Here’s an update about pressing health condition of Wally Gonzalez
Filipino guitar icon Wally Gonzalez of legendary Pinoy rock band Juan de la Cruz suffered a mild stroke and tested positive for COVID-19.
This prompted his son John Gonzalez to call for financial assistance for the treatment of his father.
Through his Facebook account, John shared what happened to the OPM icon who became famous as a member of Juan de la Cruz with Mike Hanopol and Pepe Smith.
“Last week, my dad Wally Gonzalez suffered a mild stroke that rendered him extremely weak and unable to move on his own power.
According to him, he has been confined at Perpetual Help Hospital in Las Piñas since Wednesday, January 20.
“His initial findings saw an onset of pneumonia as well to go with the stroke. He is also a diabetic,” he said.
He added that he has launched an online fundraiser to help his father with his medical expenses.
John then gave an update on his father’s health condition and confirmed that he tested positive for COVID-19.
“The pneumonia I mentioned was a part of it. He is advised to stay one more week since the treatment for Remdesivir takes that long,” he said.
“We are hoping by his next test, he turns negative so he can finally be discharged, or released to a more budget-friendly room. The treatment is very expensive,” he added.
Among the hits popularized by Juan de la Cruz is “Himig Natin,” “Balong Malalim,” “Titser’s Enemy No. 1,” “Beep, Beep” and “No Touch”.
