According to PAGASA weather forecaster Ana Clauren, colder weather might be possible until next month.

“May possibility na mas lumamig pa rin hanggang February,” she said.

It is being forecasted that temperature in Metro Manila might drop as low as 23 degrees Celsius within 4 days while Baguio City, the summer capital of the country, might experience 11 to 12 degrees Celsius.

So far, La Trinidad in Benguet recorded the lowest temperature with 9.5 degrees Celsius. Metro Manila at the time recorded 21.6 degrees Celsius. It all happened on the same day, on the 10th of January 2021.

On the other hand, the coolest temperature recorded in the country by the city of Baguio was at 6.3-degrees Celsius on January 18, 1961.

Meanwhile, according to PAGASA, the northeast monsoon is bringing winter winds from Mainland China which is why part of the country is experiencing coldness.
