Dacera Case Respondents Weren’t Informed Of Their Legal Rights Says Lawyer

DACERA CASE – The controversial Dacera case has swept the nation with the respondents of the case fighting for their innocence.

Previously, the PNP wrote off its Dacera case investigation as “solved”. However, due to an appaling lack of evidence, the investigations continue.

Since then, the NBI took the helm and reportedly secured a “urine sample” from Dacera’s dead body. However, a forensic pathologist questioned this and floated the possibility of the sample simply being “embalming fluid”.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the case were the respondents, who, unfortunately, were earlier subjected to trial by publicity. Furthermore, their lawyers say that they were not informed of their rights to a lawyer when they were dragged for questioning.

Based on a report from GMA, two of the three respondents, Rommel Galido and JP Dela Serna, weren’t read their Miranda Rights. As such, the respondent’s lawyer, Abby Portugal emphasized that the arrest and detention of her clients was illegal.

However, Portugal said that they have yet to decide on the next move regarding the matter. Instead, they wanted to focus on facing the criminal complaints against them for the death of Christine Dacera.

Earlier, the respondents of the case also claimed that police forced them to pinpoint someone to blame for the incident.

Si Mark ‘yung nasabi ko which is hindi naman dapat talaga kasi wala namang sinabi si Christine na Mark. Pero ‘yun ‘yung parang pinipilit“, Rommel Galido claimed.
