Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto Announces 4,339 Casual Employees to Get Pay Increase Next Year
Mayor Vico Sotto announced that around 4,339 Pasig City casual employees would receive pay increase starting next year.
Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto said that he want to give job security and assurance to over 4,000 casual employees in the city amid the coronavirus pandemic. The salary would jump from Grade 1 to 3.
The young politician announced that the salary of city’s casual employees would be increased from P11,551 to P12,572 starting January next year. “Effective January 2021, we are PROMOTING 4,339 CASUAL EMPLOYEES TO INCREASE THEIR SALARY. FROM 11,551 PESOS TO 13,572 PESOS PER MONTH. (from Salary Grade 1 to 3),” Sotto said.
The 31-year-old mayor revealed that the city government aims to regularize the contractual or casual employees. The city would gradually regularize the employees since he could not promote them all at the same time.
“Regularization of employees (yung next batch natin nasa 617 empleyado na 15 yrs [years] pataas nang kontraktwal.. kung pwede lang sanang sabay-sabay na lahat, pero kailangan strategic at responsable ang pag gawa natin nito),” Sotto said.
In January 2020, the young Sotto announced that around 53 casual workers have been promoted to regularization. Another 100 employees have been regularized during his birthday.
