DOH COVID-19 update as of December 12, 2020

The Department of Health (DOH) gave an update about its latest COVID-19 tally as of 4:00 p.m. of December 12, 2020.

According to its COVID-19 Case Bulletin #273 dated December 12, 2020, the Department of Health recorded 1,301 newly-reported COVID-19 cases. This brought the total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus disease to 448,331.

Also, the Department of Health reported 30,168 total active cases wherein 85.8% were mild cases, 7.0% were asymptomatic cases, 4.6% were critical cases, 2.3% were severe cases, and 0.24% were moderate cases.

Moreover, the Department of Health identified the top five areas with the highest number of new coronavirus cases as of December 12 only: Davao del Norte with 96 new cases, Quezon City with 76 new cases, Laguna with 59 new cases, Rizal with 50 new cases, and Samar (Western Samar) with 50 new cases.

Aside from the number of confirmed cases, the Department of Health had recorded 111 newly-reported recoveries, bringing the total number of recoveries to 409,433. Also, the Department of Health recorded 35 newly-reported fatalities, bringing the total number of coronavirus deaths to 8,730.

While the coronavirus disease was still present in the Philippines and the number of COVID-19 cases kept on increasing, the Department of Health constantly reminded the public to continually follow the minimum public health standards.

“Sa ating pakikiisa sa UHC Day, sinisiguro ng ating mga National Government Agencies at Local Government Units na patuloy ang ating kilos tungo sa mas pinalawig na health Systems capacity para sa bawat Pilipino!” the Department of Health said in its message of the day.
