Public Advised to Shop Online Amid Pandemic, E-Commerce Group Says
An e-commerce group is encouraging the public to shop online for ‘e-Aguinaldo’ amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Digital Commerce Association of the Philippines executive director Mark Joseph Panganiban is encouraging the public to turn to online sellers on social media for buying gifts during the Christmas season.
Panganiban wants the public to take the opportunity to help their friends, family, or relatives who were selling products online amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Users could also use e-wallet for payment.
The proposal could prevent the further spread and transmission of the coronavirus disease in the country.
“Kasi kung mapapansin natin karamihan sa friends natin sa social media ay online seller na ng food. Diyan makikita mo ‘yung homemade cookies, homemade breads,” Panganiban said.
The Department of Health advised the public to hold virtual celebration of Christmas Day and New Year’s Day during this Yuletide season. The agency also encourages the Filipino people to celebrate the holidays within the family.
Caloocan City’s Sangguniang Kabataan would also hold an online Christmas caroling since the traditional or house-to-house caroling is prohibited amid the health crisis.
