K-pop fan to Imelda Schweighart: “if you’re proud to be Filipino why are ur lyrics in english?”
Former Miss Philippines Earth titleholder Imelda Schweighart responded to a K-pop fan questioning her for using English lyrics.
Earlier, the 22-year-old beauty queen took to the image-sharing platform, Instagram wherein she responded to a K-pop fan asking her: “if you’re proud to be Filipino why are ur lyrics in english?”
To which she responded: “coz in private schools here in the philippines we’re required to speak in english most of the time. sheeshg.”
It was just recently when she made headlines after expressing her frustration against Koreans especially K-pop.
In a Facebook post, she noted: “I hate kpop.”
She then claimed that “Filipinos are losing their identity trying to be koreans. Konting, pride please?”
In the later part of her post, she stressed that “Di hamak na mas magaling namang mag-English mga Pinoy kesa Korean. Kala ko ba Chinese nananakop? I think we’re getting it wrong. Lagi na lang tayong sinasakop.”
Her hate post immediately spread like a wildfire garnering reactions and mean comments from the netizens.
Her Facebook account has been disabled most probably after a massive report from the netizens.
Meanwhile, Imelda Schweighart, a Filipino-German beauty queen, rose to fame when she won the Miss Philippines Earth title in 2016.
She is not new in the limelight. In fact, she was one of the co-hosts of Willie Revillame from 2010 to 2011 in his then variety show, Willing Willie.
She was also one of the lead casts of the youth-oriented drama series Bagets: Just Got Lucky which aired on TV5.
