Jasmine Curtis Smith’s boyfriend Jeff Ortega, the Director of the Department of Tourism-Ilocos Region, called Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos as vice president at an event.
Recently, Ortega took to his Instagram page wherein he posted a video of the launch of the region’s tourism branding, in which he introduced Marcos as the vice president.
Although the video seemed to have been taken down, netizens couldn’t help but criticize him over his statement.
A netizen named Jopet Tuason said on Twitter: “Jeff Ortega is from a political family that lorded La Union for decades. They are also known to be close to the Marcoses. So no surprise, there.”
According to the Twitter user with the handle name Tito, “Jeff Ortega, did not just do it for show, or as a joke. He had the gall to even post this on his social media after the event. Meaning, he meant every word he said. Trapo. Resign, now!“
His video has also gone viral on almost all social media platforms including YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook.

Jeff Ortega, who currently serves as director of the Department of Tourism in the Ilocos region, has been in a relationship with actress-host Jasmine Curtis Smith for four years.
Marcos, on the other hand, was defeated by then-Camarines Sur representative Leni Robredo in the 2016 vice presidential race.
