DOH Update: Total COVID-19 Cases In PH Already At 360,775

Total COVID-19 cases in the Philippines already reached 360,775, according to DOH.

The total number of coronavirus cases in the Philippines already reached 360,775 with over 1,600 newly-reported cases, according to the Department of Health (DOH).

This, as the Department of Health gave an update on the total number of COVID-19 cases in the Philippines as of 4:00 p.m. today, October 20, 2020.

According to its COVID-19 Case Bulletin #220 dated October 20, 2020, the Department of Health reported 1,640 newly-reported COVID-19 cases, wherein 1,487 out of 1,640 were recorded as “fresh” cases — reported cases occurred within the recent 14 days.

This brought the total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus disease to 360,775.

Since September 11, the Department of Health didn’t report the number of operational laboratories who successfully submitted their data to the COVID-19 Data Repository System as well as the total number of operational laboratories. However, the Department of Health on Tuesday reported that 15 operational laboratories failed to submit their data to the CDRS.

The Department of Health also reported 43,443 total active cases as stated in its COVID-19 Case Bulletin #220 dated October 20, 2020.

Moreover, the Department of Health identified the top five areas with the highest number of new coronavirus cases as of October 20 only: Cavite with 86 new cases, Quezon City with 86 new cases, Batangas with 69 new cases, Bulacan with 62 new cases, and City of Manila with 61 new cases.

Aside from the number of confirmed cases, the Department of Health had recorded 369 newly-reported recoveries, bringing the total number of recoveries to 310,642. Also, the Department of Health recorded 17 newly-reported fatalities, bringing the total number of coronavirus deaths to 6,690.
