Miss Universe 1969 Gloria Diaz recounted how they used to be as beauty queens.
In an exclusive interview, the 69-year-old actress and former beauty queen shared how it feels like to become a beauty queen then and now.
“During my time, if you’re a beauty queen, it seems like you have to be always at the right time, in the right place, in the right company,” she said.
“You can’t hang out with gangsters and stuff like that, or in the casino. But now, I guess it’s OK, eh … OK. The contest is in the casino, eh. Isn’t it?” Gloria continued.
During her interview with PEP Live host Jimpy Anarcon, the first Filipina to wear the crown at the prestigious Miss Universe pageant also discussed the difference between her work with local and Hollywood productions.
It can be recalled that she was a guest on several episodes of the Netflix dark-comedy-drama series, “Insatiable.”

Meanwhile, Gloria Diaz previously revealed in the new iWant series entitled “Beauty Queens” the dark side of beauty pageants including indecent proposals and the stories about DOM or dirty old men.
But it wasn’t the first time that a beauty queen exposed something about “indecent proposals” in beauty pageants.
Two months ago, former Binibining Pilipinas-World 2008 Janina San Miguel revealed the “indecent practices” during her reign in Bb. Pilipinas- that prompted her to quit- three months before she competes the Miss World pageant at the time.
