Former beauty queen Janina San Miguel has broken her silence over the alleged “indecent practices” during her reign as Binibining Pilipinas-World in 2008.

In an exclusive interview, Janina San Miguel revealed via CNA Insider documentary “hidden side” of the beauty pageants in the country the ‘indecent practices’ she had during her tenure as a beauty queen.

It was in 2008 when Janina San Miguel – who’s 17 at the time, won the Binibining Pilipinas-World title. She also won the long gown and swimsuit awards in the said pageant.

“Noong nandoon na kami, sinabi na 3 million for a one-night stand. ‘Yung 25 million, gagawin ka niyang girlfriend, bibigyan ka niya ng car, condo, resort, lahat,” the former beauty queen said.

“Iyon na nga ‘yung maduming kalakaran nila. Ang dami talagang gustong maging girlfriend or wife ang isang beauty queen,” she added.

In an article published by ABS-CBN News, Janina San Miguel also recalled that there was a point in time when she was barred from seeing her loved ones as well as prohibited for using a phone.

But three months before the Miss World 2008 pageant, she resigned to represent the country. While a runner-up was sent to the international pageant to represent the Philippines.

“To tell you honestly, I’m really not happy during that time,” she stressed.

She also shared that when she applied for a job, she did not mention any of her involvement in the world of pageantry.

Janina now enjoys being a call center agent and full-time mom, away from the limelight.
