Barangay Official Slams 2 Volunteer Workers After Extorting P500 from SAP Beneficiaries
Two volunteer workers have been caught after allegedly extorting P500 from the beneficiaries of Social Amelioration cash fund.
A lot of Filipino people rely on the Social Amelioration financial assistance being given by the Department of Social Welfare and Development to help the poor families affected by the coronavirus-related lockdown.
However, there are several residents complaining against several barangay officials who were allegedly reducing the cash assistance for the less-fortunate people. Some beneficiaries did not receive cash aid although they are qualified.
Recently, the Facebook page Trending 101 has shared the video footage of a barangay captain criticizing several volunteer workers who were allegedly asking P500 from the beneficiaries of DSWD’s SAP financial aid.
In the video, it can be seen that the barangay official is lambasting the workers for their anomalous activities. The workers also make their own “alibi” and “palusot” just to evade the crime.
After a few moments, the captain also ordered his men to arrest the suspects for their illegal activities, which contribute to the hardships of the poor Filipino families. The video garnered various reactions from the online community.
