Gapan City residents lauded Mayor Emeng Pascual III
Residents of Gapan City had the chance to choose their “ulam for today” amid the enhanced community quarantine and because of this, Mayor Emeng Pascual III was lauded.
At this trying time, local officials have been doing extra effort to provide the basic needs of their constituents. However, there were those who received criticisms for allegedly not performing their duties to the public.
Apparently, Mayor Emeng is one of those officials who garnered admiration from people because of his relief efforts. Based on the article from PEP, aside from the usual rice, noodles and canned goods, the Gapan Mayor previously provided live chicken and eggs to his constituents.
But wait! There’s more! Mayor Emeng lets the some 36,000 thousands residents of Gapan City to choose their “ulam for today”.
“Dun nga po pala sa menu namin na ito, lahat yun pera ng city hall except dito sa Chicken Marinado. Ito po ay bigay ng Chooks-to-Go sa halagang kalahating milyong piso,” the mayor said.
A netizen names Doc Romeo Erese III shared an appreciation post for Mayor Emeng. “Level up! Extended Enhanced Community Quarantine ka lang, BATANG GAPAN kami!Yung feeling na may choices ka, salamat YORME EMENG!” the caption of the post stated.
Aside from this, the local officials of Gapan also gave away P1,000 cash assistance to members of the transport sector.
In some barangays, the Gapan City Mayor and Vice Mayor Dodong Bautista Jr. distributed food packs and the latter assigned barangay captains to facilitated the distribution in their respective areas.
Based on the article, Mayor Emeng also donated his own money worth P6 million amid the COVID-19 crisis.
