Italy Records 712 New Deaths Due to Coronavirus

ITALY – The coronavirus death toll in the Italian nation increased by 712 in just one (1) day.

Currently, several countries in the world are fighting against the spread of COVID-19, a pandemic as declared by the World Health Organization (WHO). The impacts of the said strain of coronavirus has taken over 23,000 lives worldwide.

One of the countries that was greatly affected by coronavirus is Italy. The Italian nation is now under a total lockdown after successive increases on its confirmed cases of COVID-19 and death toll.

Initially, the country had a partial lockdown covering only the Lombardy region and 14 provinces. The epicenter of COVID-19 in the Italian country is Lombardy.

But the move was not enough to stop the disease from spreading. Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte decided to extend it to the whole nation.

The Italian Prime Minister also sought the help of the military too enforce the lockdown in the whole country. Non-essential businesses were ordered to stop their operation amid the COVID-19 outbreak.

For several days now, Italy is recording hundreds of deaths daily due to coronavirus. The country holds the highest number of COVID-19 death toll.

Based on Worldometer, there are 712 new deaths in Italy due to coronavirus. It brings the total death toll to 8,215 now. The total number of infected cases has increased by 6,203 and is now at 80,589.
