Indonesia Records First 2 Cases of 2019 Novel Coronavirus

INDONESIA – The country recorded its first two (2) cases of the 2019 novel coronavirus, President Joko Widodo confirmed.

The 2019 novel coronavirus continues to infect people inside and outside China, the epicenter of the disease. It was first recorded in Wuhan City in Hubei Province which is now under a lock-down.

The novel coronavirus or officially called as COVID-19 has infected more than 70,000 people in China. There are speculations that it stemmed from bats pointing to the bat soup sold in the market in Wuhan. It has yet to be confirmed.

More than 1,200 people in China lost their lives to the 2019 novel coronavirus. There are also reported death cases outside the country.

Several countries including Hong Kong, Philippines, United States, France, and Mexico got confirmed coronavirus cases. Currently, there is a close watch to the cases in Iran, South Korea, and Italy where an outbreak may take place.

Every day, several countries are confirmed their first cases of coronavirus. Based on a report on Al Jazeera, Indonesia recently confirmed its first two (2) cases of the 2019 novel coronavirus.

According to Indonesian President Joko Widodo, the first two (2) coronavirus patients are Indonesians. They tested positive for the disease and are now treated in a hospital.
