CEO Jack Welch died on Monday at the age of 84. The tragic passing of one of America’s best-known businessmen was confirmed by General Electric (GE).
In an email, company chief Larry Culp said that Jack’s passing was “a sad day for the entire GE family” as Jack was “larger than life and the heart of GE for half a century.” He added that Jack reshaped the face of General Electric (GE) and the business world as well.
General Electric (GE) CEO Jack Welch was dubbed as the “manager of the century” by Fortune magazine way back in 1999. He also transformed GE into a “sprawling conglomerate” during his 20 years as a chief executive.
