CORONAVIRUS CASES CONFIRMED IN PHILIPPINES – The Department of Health (DOH) revealed that there are two (2) new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the Philippines.

One of the ongoing global concerns now is the spread of the 2019 novel coronavirus or officially called as COVID-19. Currently, several nations are having increasing infection and death records.

The said strain of coronavirus first emerged in China, specifically in Wuhan City, last December 2019. Now, the city is locked due to the outbreak. It has infected more than 70,000 people in the country and at least 2,000 deaths were recorded globally.

The first coronavirus death recorded outside China was in the Philippines. The patient was a 44-year-old Chinese man who traveled the country together with his partner, a 38-year Chinese woman who was the first confirmed case of COVID-19 in PH.

Recently, an update crossed the surface. Based on a report on Inquirer, the Department of Health (DOH) revealed that two (2) new coronavirus cases were confirmed in the Philippines.

According to DOH Secretary Francisco Duque III, the first new case is a 48-year-old Filipino man and the other patient is a 62-year-old man. The first new confirmed case has traveled Japan prior to his detection for coronavirus.

Based on the report, the patients behind the new coronavirus cases confirmed in the Philippines are currently staying at the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM) in Muntinlupa City.

The Health Secretary refused to disclose the locations were the patients could have been infected. He revealed that are 600 patients now under investigation for coronavirus.
