CORONAVIRUS DEATHS & INFECTIONS IN ITALY – The coronavirus cases in Italy, both the infection and the death toll, continues to rise.

Italy is one of the countries across the globe that is now on a tough fight against the 2019 novel coronavirus. Its infection and death cases continued to increase for several days already.

The 2019 novel coronavirus or officially called as COVID-19 was first recorded in China. It left Wuhan, its epicenter, under an outbreak which prompted the place to be under a lock-down.

In China, more than 70,000 were infected by coronavirus. Globally, the records hold at leats 2,000 deaths due to the said disease.

Italy, South Korea, and Iran are now on the watch for a possible outbreak. It was after their coronavirus cases continue to increase for several days now.

Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, both the coronavirus deaths and infections in Italy continue to rise. From 107, in just 24 hours, the death toll has increased to 148 as confirmed by the Civil Protection Agency.

With regards to the coronavirus infection cases, from 3,089, it has increased to 3,858. According to the report, the recent increase in the coronavirus deaths and infections in Italy is the highest since the disease affected the northern regions.

Amid the spread of the disease, the Italian government pledged to double the money that will aid the economy in coping with the impact of the disease. In a news conference, Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte asked for his countrymen’s unity.

“We are asking the country for unity, we are all in the same boat and we need to work together otherwise it will be hard to overcome this crisis,” the Prime Minister said.
