Latest Count of Suspected Coronavirus Patients in PH As to DOH
DOH – The Department of Health revealed the current count of the suspected coronavirus patients admitted in hospitals.
The Philippines is one of the countries with confirmed cases of the COVID-19 or the 2019 novel coronavirus. It got three (3) confirmed cases and one of the patients died becoming the first death case outside China.
The novel coronavirus was first recorded in China. It had Wuhan City under a lock-down after it infected more than 60,000 people and took the lives of more than 1,000 individuals.
Currently, most countries are on tight guards for travelers from China. PH has even imposed a travel ban following the confirmed cases which the prompted the government and the agencies to trace and monitor hundreds of people.
The authorities traced the individuals the coronavirus patients had a contact with. These people includes their fellow passengers on their flights going to PH.
The three (2) confirmed cases of coronavirus in the Philippines are all Chinese nationals. Two (2) of them are a couple – the 44-year-old man is the first death case outside China.
Based on a report on GMA News, currently, there are 171 people suspected of possible coronavirus infection in the Philippines. The DOH confirmed that they are admitted in the different hospitals in the country and are monitored.
According to Health Assistance Secretary Dr. Maria Rosario, 350 patients have already been released from the hospital. Based on the report, there is a total of 521 suspected cases on the country.
Out of 521 cases, three (3) people tested positive while 453 individuals confirmed not infected with coronavirus. The laboratory test results of 22 others have yet to arrive.
