91-Year-Old Igorot Grandpa Earns Grade 12 Certificate Despite Old Age
San Gabriel, La Union – A 91-year-old Igorot grandpa has finally graduated from senior high school despite his old age.
A Facebook user named Mauricio Sao-an has shared the photos of an elderly grandpa who finally earned his Grade 12 Certificate despite his old age. The post immediately spread like a wildfire online and earns praise from the netizens.
The senior citizen identified as Federico S. Bentayen of Balbalayang, San Gabriel graduated from K to 12 curriculum in Balbalayang National High School. He proves that age doesn’t matter to fulfill one’s dream.
Lolo Pedring has put his education on hold for 71 years to prioritize work and provide for his six children. He did his best to provide for the financial necessities of his family especially the education of his kids.
Bentayen attended Kalinga Academy but stopped in 1951 during his third year to prioritize his family. He married to Leonida Tecne Angeleo of Tadian and Sagada Mountain Province.
The old man worked as a miner at WMC Boneng Mines, Atok and he is also an active leader of his church.
