With only P6k capital, a coffee shop now has 15 branches
BUT FIRST, COFFEE – A coffee shop that started with only six thousand pesos (P6,000) capital, now has 15 branches.
Anna Magalona worked as a Credit and Finance Solutions manager in a software company in Makati City for three years. Accordingly, it was one of her dream jobs when she was studying.
However, when the pandemic hit, she lost her job.
After some time, she thought of having a business to support herself financially amid the crisis.
The coffee business crossed her mind since it’s low maintenance, easy to prepare, and can be launched online.
Despite having zero experience in that field, she was determined to run the business.
She started with a six thousand pesos capital. In a way, the pandemic restrictions helped her business since she doesn’t need to pay for the rent.
Using her starting capital, she bought a basic home coffee maker and paper cups.
She also made labels that she glued to paper cups.
She also bought one kilo of coffee grounds, a few milk and sugar syrup which is enough to make 50 to 100 cups of coffee.
That’s how her business “But First, Coffee” started.
The next challenge she needs to endure is how to sustain its operation after the launch especially how she can earn more customers.
She also received negative comments that discouraged her but she did not give up after several trials and errors.
Eventually, people loved her coffee and it became famous on Facebook.
When she started to earn with her small business, Anna decided to have a physical store.
Among her bestsellers are the Vietnamese style and Spanish latte and before 2021 ended, her business already had 15 branches.
