Netizens have these reactions to the performance of Toni Gonzaga
Kapamilya multi-media star Toni Gonzaga sang the patriotic song Ako Ay Pilipino at the proclamation rally of UniTeam headed by presidential aspirant Bongbong Marcos and vice-presidential aspirant Sara Duterte.
Toni was the host of the event and after this was announced, her name trended on social media. Many netizens liked that she is showcasing her political affiliation but many netizens bashed her also for her choice.
Aside from hosting the proclamation of the BBM-Sara tandem, Toni also sang after the speech of Bongbong Marcos. She sang the chorus of Ako Ay Pilipino while the family of BBM and other candidates gathered at the center of the stage.
On Twitter, netizens expressed various reactions to this. Supporters of the BBM-Sara tandem lauded the performance of Toni Gonzaga while there were those who shared their negative reactions.

Meanwhile, the fact that Toni hosted the BBM-Sara proclamation rally was already a huge source of bashing against her. This choice of the actress-host did not sit well with many netizens, as well as her fellow Kapamilya talents and employees.
There were even those who said that she should have just resigned. During the rally, Toni Gonzaga also introduced Rep. Rodante Marcoleta as one of the senatorial aspirants under UniTeam.
For Kapamilya supporters, this is painful as they pointed out that Marcoleta was one of the lawmakers who pushed the shutting down of ABS-CBN. That is the reason why supporters of the media giants said that Toni should resign out of “delicadeza.”
