Manila Mayor Isko Moreno Speaks on ICC’s Pursuit to Probe Drug War in PH
MAYOR ISKO MORENO – The Manila Mayor and presidential candidate revealed his stand in the pursuit of the International Criminal Court (ICC) to probe Duterte administration’s drug war.
For the upcoming May 2022 Election, there are ten (10) names that remain on the official ballot for the presidential race. One of the candidates is Aksyon Demokratiko standard-bearer Manila Mayor Isko Moreno.
Moreno is running with Doctor Willie Ong as his vice president. He offers a new brand of leadership that assures that will not take revenge on the current administration or the opposition. According to him, he will focus on the recovery and betterment of the country.
Several interview offers were up for the presidential candidates in the Election 2022. Recently, Mayor Isko Moreno appeared in an interview with Boy Abunda.
During the said interview, the Manila Mayor spoke about his stand on the desire of the International Criminal Court (ICC) to investigate the drug war of the Duterte administration. The said anti-drugs campaign is linked to several deaths in the country.
Mayor Isko Moreno said that he will allow the ICC to come to the Philippines and investigate the Duterte drug war. He even expressed that they are “welcome” in the country because the is nothing to hide and the justice system is effective and working.
Furthermore, during the interview, Mayor Isko also said that he will recognize the agreements of the Philippines with ICC, the United Nations, and the Hague should he win president.
According to the Manila Mayor, the country must continue to welcome the global legal bodies so the nation can return to the status that is not hiding anything. He stressed that there is nothing to be nervous about if there’s nothing being kept.
