Mayor Isko Moreno Meets with Cebu Officials, Tourism Employees & Businessmen
MAYOR ISKO MORENO – The Manila Mayor went to Cebu to seek the support of the people and the “One Cebu” political party for his presidential bid.
One of the 97 presidential candidates of the Election 2022 is Manila Mayor Isko Moreno. He is the standard-bearer of Aksyon Demokratiko and aspires to run alongside Doc Willie Ong who is seeking the vice presidency.
Mayor Isko is one of the names in the results of surveys held to determine the possible presidential candidates in 2022. However, in the previous interviews, he remained mum as he maintained that his focus is the pandemic.
It was already nearing the filing of candidacy when the Manila Mayor confirmed that he is running for president in 2022. Recently, he visited Cebu to seek support for his presidential bid.
Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Mayor Isko Moreno talked to the small business owners and the employees of the tourism industry in Moalboal. He called his visit “listening tour” as he listened to the sentiment of those who are greatly affected by the pandemic.
According to the Manila Mayor, if he wins president in 2022, he would prioritize the building of tourism highways and tourism circuits. Luzon is the center of the economic center and he wants Visayas to be the same.
Based on the report, Mayor Isko stressed that Bohol can be the source of water for Cebu while the rice from Negros can be shipped to Cebu. He is hoping that the political party One Cebu will endorse him.
One Cebu has yet to decide on who to endorse for president in Election 2022. According to Rep. Pablo John Garcia, they have yet to decide but they are considering the Manila Mayor. For his part, Mayor Isko expressed that he will continue to exert effort for it.
