Doc Willie Ong Speaks on Aksyon Demokratiko‘s Election Campaign

DOC WILLIE ONG – The Vice Presidential aspirant spoke about the election campaign of his party, Aksyon Demokratiko, for the 2022 bid.

The timeframe set by the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) for the filing of candidacy for Election 2022 is over. There are some prominent names seeking a national post in the next election.

One of the popular aspirants is Doc Willie Ong. He is running for vice president alongside Aksyon Demokratiko’s standard-bearer, Manila Mayor Isko Moreno.

Undeniably, Moreno choosing Ong as his VP gained positive impressions from many people. The Manila Mayor previously asked his supporters to vote for them as a tandem although he clarified that he can work with anyone.

According to Doc Willie Ong, he is not in a competition with anyone. In the previous election, he ran for a seat in the Senate but did not make it to the upper chamber for landing in 18th place with around 7.4 million votes.

Doc Willie is popular on social media with 16 million followers on Facebook. He uploads videos about health topics. On YouTube, he has some 6.65 million followers.

Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, speaking to factory workers, Doc Willie Ong stressed that Aksyon Demokratiko is not using trolls as an election campaign tool. According to him, they rely on an organic social media campaign and following.

The cardiologist stressed that what trolls do is embarrass his and Mayor Isko’s supporters. According to him, some candidates are using trolls while they don’t.

Aside from their organic social media campaign, Doc Willie is also happy about their slate. According to him, they have no “guest candidate”. The Manila Mayor previously stressed that he does not like having guest candidates as they mock the rules in elections.
