Here are the details about the home isolation package of PhilHealth
HOME ISOLATION PACKAGE – The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) reminded the public about its program for members who are mild and asymptomatic from COVID-19.
The program is called COVID-19 Home Isolation Benefit Package (CHIBP) which is intended for members who are asymptomatic and those who have mild symptoms, isolated at home.
According to PhilHealth spokesperson Shirley Domingo, PhilHealth members who test positive for COVID-19 through the RT-PCR test can apply to the program.
However, patients with severe and critical symptoms are not included.
“‘Yung home isolation package ay binabayad sa accredited providers, hindi po doon sa patients kasi ‘yung providers ang mag-aalaga sa patients,” Domingo explained.
The PhilHealth official said that those who can avail of the package must have a separate room and have their own bathroom, and good airflow.
The official also explained that the home isolation package is an alternative for patients with COVID-19 but do not want to stay in Community Isolation Units (CIUs), rather wanted to receive health support while recovering at home.
The CHIBP package includes a home isolation kit containing alcohol, thermometer, pulse oximeter, face masks, medicines, and vitamins; daily teleconsultation for up to 10 days; patient education; and referral to high-level health facilities when the need arises.
CHIBP was launched in August 2021. For those who want to apply for CHIBP, just contact PhilHealth.
