Lone Survivor Airs Frustration After 11 Family Members Died Amid Typhoon Odette
A lone survivor gets heartbroken after his 11 family members passed away due to landslide triggered by Typhoon Odette.
Last week, Typhoon Odette causes severe damage to numerous properties over some parts of the country. The weather disturbance causes massive flooding in some provinces and destroyed numerous homes due to violent winds.
The typhoon’s wrath left numerous people without home and even nothing to start with. Odette also took the lives of innocent residents.
The Facebook page “Mandirigma” has shared the heartbreaking photos of a lone survivor who was devastated after the death of his 11 family members due to Typhoon Odette. The post earned the sympathy of the netizens.
In the photos, it can be seen that the lone survivor was just staring the coffin of his family members. Five bodies out of his 11 relatives have been recovered by the authorities while six others were still missing. The rescue team was still looking for the missing persons.
The incident happened in the middle of Typhoon’s Odette devastation in Agusan del Sur. The tropical cyclone brings heavy rains and violent winds, which triggered massive flooding and landslides.
According to the poor man, he instructed his family to proceed to the evacuation center first to ensure their safety. He remained in the house to feed their pets but he did not expect that a tragedy awaits his family.

“Wala nang mas sasakit pa sa isang ama na mawalan ng mga mahal sa buhay sa isang iglap lamang nang manalasa ang malakas na bagyong #OdettePH sa kanilang lugar sa Agusan del Sur.
Ayon sa mga awtoridad, nasa 11 kapamilya ni Tatay ang natabunan ng landslide sa kasagsagan ng pananalasa ng bagyo at sa kasawiang palad ay lahat ng mga ito’y nasawi. 5 pa lang ang kasalukuyang nahahanap habang patuloy ang isinasagawang paghahanap ng mga rescue team sa natitira pang 6 na mga katawan.
Ayon sa kanya, una niyang pina-evacuate ang kanyang mga kapamilya at siya’y nagpaiwan muna sa kanilang tirahan upang pakainin ang kanilang mga alagang hayop bago siya lumuwas. Ngunit di niya sukat akalain na isang hindi malilimutang bangungot pala ang naghihintay sa kanyang buong pamilya.
Kami po ay lubos na nakikiramay sa lahat ng pamilya ng mga nasawi sa pananalasa ni “ODETTE” sa ating bansa at dalangin po namin na sana’y makabangon pa rin po tayong lahat ngayong magpa-pasko at sa bagong taon.”
