Rastaman Says He is Serious When it Comes to Politics
RASTAMAN – The viral social media personality has expressed his serious opinion with the current issues on our society.
Rolando Plaza or popularly known as “Rastaman” becomes one of the most popular personality online after netizens make him as ‘meme’ on social media. The internet celebrity earned instant popularity after filing candidacy in 2018.
In 2018, Plaza filed his certificate of candidacy to run as a senator last 2019 mid-term elections. Last October 2021, the personality filed his COC for presidential election but got rejected. Rolando has been considered as a nuisance candidate for having no sufficient amount of cash to fund a nationwide campaign.
The viral personality rose to fame after introducing himself as a “Half-human, half zombie”. He also introduced the tattoos on his face showing a triangle, 888 or happini infinity sign and ghost-rider motorcycle (Umaapoy, may pakpak).
Recently, the aspiring politician has been featured on “Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho.” He expressed his seriousness when it comes to politics although many people considered him as a nuisance candidate.
Rastaman reiterated that he has an advocacy and expressed his fury towards China for invading the Philippine territory.
“Nuisance. Eh malinaw naman ‘yung adbokasiya ko eh, My advocacy is against China. You are entering our territory. You must get out of our territory,” Plaza said.
The aspiring political candidate also gives serious answers to serious questions discussing the current issues in the country. He condemns death penalty and corruption but supports reproductive health bill and same-sex marriage.
Behind the public’s knowledge, Rolando is already married and has two children. His eldest child is currently working as a call center agent and his ‘bunso’ is working as a ‘bartender’ in Dubai.
