Energy Secretary Alfonso Cusi on “Bongbong-Bong Go” tandem in 2022 elections.
ALFONSO CUSI — The president of the PDP-Laban Cusi faction said that a Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr – Senator Christopher “Bong” Go tandem in the 2022 elections was “impossible”.
Energy Secretary Alfonso Cusi said in an interview on CNN Philippines that they have already firmed up the “Dela Rosa-Go” (Senator Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa and Senator Bong Go) tandem.
“I think that will not happen because we have already firmed up ang pagtakbo ng tandem ni Bato [Senator Ronald Dela Rosa] and Bong Go. Sa ngayon, imposible because we are no longer in touch with them,” Cusi said.
Bongbong Marcos didn’t have a vice-presidential candidate yet while Bong Go was Dela Rosa’s vice-presidential running mate under the ruling PDP-Laban Cusi faction.
According to Cusi, he had previously talked with Marcos but “nothing materialized” during the said meeting.

Senator Imee Marcos said in a radio interview last October 17 that “everything is possible” when asked about a possible tandem between Senator Bong Go and her brother Bongbong.
“I think what he’s trying to do is put together a slate, wala pa siyang vice president. Tawa nga kami ng tawa, sabi namin eh, ano ‘yan…kasi tinatanong siya, ‘eh ano ka, Bongbong-Bong Go?’ Nakakatawa nga eh, so let’s see how it works out,” Imee said at that time.
Currently, the camp of Bongbong Marcos was eyeing bets with bailiwicks in Mindanao and the Visayas as his vice-presidential candidate, including fellow presidential aspirant Senator Manny Pacquiao.
Senator Bong Go filed his certificate of candidacy (COC) for vice president last October 2, while Bongbong Marcos filed his certificate of candidacy for president last October 6.
