Mayor Sara’s comment came after President Duterte, who was running for vice president next year, claimed during his weekly public address aired Tuesday morning that Senator Imee went to Davao City “hoping” that she would be tapped as Mayor Sara’s running mate in 2022.
Senator Imee, the daughter of the late President Ferdinand Marcos, had earlier floated the idea of her brother, former senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, becoming Mayor Sara’s running mate and calling the tandem “a marriage made in heaven”.
Mayor Sara has yet to decide on her political plans for next year but had said that she’s open to running for president.
