DUTERTE – President Rodrigo Roa Duterte claimed that Senator Imee Marcos wants to run as the vice president of his daughter, Sara.

The next national election is set to be held less than a year from now. There are already speculations on who might take the presidential bid for the Elections 2022.

One of the names that are usually part of the survey results for possible presidential candidates in the next election is Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte. His political party, Hugpong ng Pagababago, is urging her to run for president.

The Davao City Mayor previously expressed that she has no plans to run for president in 2022. Her party mates gave her time to decide as they asked her to reconsider her decision.

Recently, Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte made a claim that Sen. Imee Marcos wants to run as the vice president of the Davao City Mayor in the next election. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the 76-year-old Chief Executive also claimed that the Senator visits his daughter in Davao.

“Pinupuntahan niya si Mayor… Hoping na magtakbo ‘yon, siya ang maging bise,” the President expressed based on the report.

According to the President, the Davao City Mayor will not run for the highest position in the government next election. Previously, he announced his bid for vice president but was conditional.

The Chief Executive expressed that he will not run for vice president if his daughter will take the presidential race. According to him, it can be two (2) Dutertes gunning for two (2) of the highest posts in the government.

As for the Davao City Mayor, she expressed her hope that her father will stop talking about her and she won’t be used as the basis in making decisions. She assured that her decision over the next election won’t come in the last minute.
