Pacquiao to Run for President if Sara Will Be Admin’s “Anointed One” Says Puentevella

Puentevella on Pacquiao: “It’s not yet October 8 but if it is Sara who will be the anointed one, he will go for it.”

Monico Puentevella, the spokesperson of Manny Pacquiao, said the boxer-senator will run for president if the Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte will be the administration’s “anointed one.”

In an interview with CNN Philippines, Puentevella- a former politician from Bacolod, said that if Sara becomes the “anointed one”, the boxer-turned-lawmaker will go for the highest position in the country.

However, Sara has yet to officially declare if she will be running for president or not.

According to Puentevella, if PacMan decides to run for president in the upcoming polls, his recent fight with Yordenis Ugas from Cuba would be his last.

Recently, Pacquiao fought Ugas for the WBA Welterweight title.

Unfortunately, he lost to Ugas via a Unanimous decision (115-113, 116-112, 116-112) after 12 rounds of boxing.

The People’s Champ is expected to give his decision whether to run the said post or not in a month.

Once he returned to the country, he will discuss the 2022 elections with Vice President Leni Robredo, Senate President Vicente Sotto III, and Senator Panfilo Lacson.

Sotto and Lacson are said to be running the vice president and presidential posts respectively.
