No swab test results but entered Zamboanga City?
The local government of Zamboanga City will investigate the entry of foreigners without the results of their swab test.
One of the safety protocols in order to find out if a person is a carrier of coronavirus or not is to undergo a swab test or nasopharyngeal swab.
It is a method for collecting a clinical test sample of nasal secretions from the back of the nose and throat.
The sample is then analyzed for the presence of organisms or other clinical markers for disease.
This diagnostic method is commonly used in suspected cases of various types of diseases including COVID-19.
Meanwhile, based on the report of GMA News, some foreigners were able to enter the city of Zamboanga without presenting their swab test results.
Some were later on tested positive for the dreaded coronavirus disease.
Mayor Beng Climaco of Zamboanga City said that the foreigners who entered their beloved city were part of the delegation of the International Monitoring Team.
The group is reportedly based in the Western Mindanao Command.
The city mayor has already talked to Lieutenant General Corleto Vinluan Jr., commander of the Western Mindanao Command, regarding the incident.
Foreigners who tested positive for COVID-19 were brought to the isolation facility along with their security personnel who were considered as their close contacts.
As of August 15, Zamboanga City has already recorded 12,337 cases with 11,590 recoveries and 613 deaths. Of the recorded cases, 134 are active.
On the other hand, the country has over 14,000 additional cases, 27 new deaths and 10,674 new recoveries as of August 16. Moreover, the Philippines already has 1,755,846 cases.
