DOH Reveals 3 Pinoys From Japan Cruise Ship Brought To Facility After Showing Coronavirus Symptoms
PINOYS FROM JAPAN – Three (3) Filipinos repatriated from the cruise ship docked in Japan showed symptoms of coronavirus.
Japan has a huge number of coronavirus cases due to the infected cruise ship that docked in their port. It was under quarantine for 14 days but the virus spread and infected many passengers and crew.
The passengers and crew who tested positive for the 2019 novel coronavirus were brought to local hospitals in Japan. Among them are Filipinos.
Those Pinoys who tested negative were assisted and repatriated to the Philippines after the 14-day quarantine period was over. Upon their arrival to PH, they have to undergo another 14-day quarantine period.
Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the Pinoys from Japan cruise ship were brought to New Clark City. Their health condition are strictly monitored as though they tested negative for coronavirus before flying to PH, they may develop symptoms within the 2-week monitoring.
Recently, the Department of Health (DOH) revealed that three (3) Pinoys from Japan cruise ship showed symptoms of coronavirus. Speaking to DZMM, Health Assistant Secretary Maria Rosario Vergeire expressed that two (2) of them have sore throat while the other one experiences unproductive cough.
Rosario assured that the patients were already brought to the facility prepared to treat coronavirus patients. Meanwhile, she clarified that it is not yet confirmed if it is really nCoV based on the report.
The samples of the patients were already sent to the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM). The results may be out in the next 24 to 48 hours.
