Vic Sotto and Vice Ganda have excited fans after exchanging friendly messages on their rival noontime television shows ahead of the official announcement of their upcoming movie. The film has already been confirmed by Star Cinema through a teaser, although its title has not yet been revealed. It is also expected to be one of the entries for the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2026.
During separate live broadcasts, Vice greeted Vic with a warm message, expressing his admiration for the veteran actor. Vic later returned the greeting on his own show, saying they would soon talk and ending his message with a playful flying kiss. Their lighthearted exchange quickly became a trending topic and increased public interest in their first film collaboration.
The official movie announcement is scheduled for July 5, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. during a mall event at Gateway Mall 2 in Cubao, Quezon City. Excitement grew even more after aspiring actress Sofi Fermazi briefly posted on social media that she would perform as a special guest during the event. She also shared a photo with Vic and Vice. The post was later deleted, leading many to believe it was published before it received official approval. However, screenshots had already spread across social media.
Vice had previously hinted that he was working on a major collaboration for MMFF 2026. He shared that the project had gone through several planning meetings and described it as one of his biggest collaborations to date. He also revealed that it would be his first time starring in a movie with his mystery co-star after years of leading solo films.
Fans will not have to wait long to learn more about the project. The first batch of official entries for MMFF 2026 will be announced on July 7 during the festival’s kickoff event at Greenhills Mall in San Juan City. Many are now hoping that the much-awaited Vic Sotto and Vice Ganda movie will be included in the lineup.
