Carmina Villarroel Addresses Allegations of Being a “Pakialamera” and “Matapobre”
CARMINA VILLARROEL – The actress addressed allegations of being a “pakialamera” and “matapobre” in a lengthy media interview following various controversies surrounding her.
The interview took place during the finale press conference of Abot-Kamay Na Pangarap on October 2, 2024, where Villarroel discussed issues related to her twin children with Zoren Legaspi, Mavy and Cassy, and how her social media posts have been interpreted by others.
In Mavy’s Instagram post on Carmina’s 49th birthday, he defended her character, stating she is a good person. He expressed pride in her resilience against negativity, saying, “I am passionate about it when I say that you are kind. Mabuti kang tao, Ma.” Carmina appreciated her children and family for their support, emphasizing that their love is “overflowing.”
She lamented the misconceptions surrounding her actions on social media, noting, “It’s just so sad na people… parang may misconception lang.” Carmina has been in the industry for years, asserting that if she were truly a bad person, rumors about her would have surfaced long ago. She clarified that while she is not perfect, she does not exhibit the traits people accuse her of.
Carmina also expressed frustration with how netizens interpret her past statements, particularly regarding her comments on her children’s relationships, which were linked to Mavy’s previous relationship with Kyline Alcantara. She emphasized that her previous remarks were taken out of context and not directed at anyone specifically.
Despite the controversies, Carmina stated she is not greatly affected but finds it surprising how quickly people believe sensationalized narratives. She acknowledged the powerful influence of social media, remarking, “Grabe talaga yung power ng social media,” and noted how people’s beliefs can quickly shape narratives.
