Sara Duterte Thanks Bongbong Marcos Jr. For Trust As Secretary of Education
SARA DUTERTE – Vice President Sara Duterte-Carpio expressed her gratitude to President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos.
A legislator called on Sara to show decency and step down from her position at DepEd, but Bongbong Marcos stated that she would remain as the head of the department. On Wednesday, Sara expressed gratitude to Bongbong Marcos for continuing to trust her in her capacity as the secretary of education.
“Maraming salamat, Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., sa patuloy na pagtitiwala sa akin bilang Kalihim ng Kagawaran ng Edukasyon,” Sara said in a message shared on her official FB page.
Sara also mentioned that the Department of Education, together with its personnel, will continue to prioritize meeting the needs and ensuring the future well-being of students.
“Makakaasa po kayo na ang DepEd, na binubuo ng ating mga guro at non-teaching personnel, ay patuloy na maglilingkod nang tapat para sa kinabukasan ng bawat mag-aaral,” she added.
On Tuesday, Bongbong Marcos affirmed that Sara will maintain her position as the head of education, highlighting that their professional partnership remains unaffected despite recent criticisms from First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos in a contentious interview regarding Duterte.
In a video posted on her official Facebook page on Monday, Duterte clarified that the first lady’s personal opinions do not influence her duties as a public servant. She also indicated intentions for a private conversation with President Marcos Jr. regarding forthcoming decisions.
