Liza Diño to her father: “You fought until the end; we all did.”
LIZA DIÑO – The former Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) chairperson recently shared a message for her father as former Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Undersecretary Martin Diño passed away due to cancer.
She, who is the daughter of the former DILG undersecretary, posted a black-and-white photo social media account where she can be seen holding her father’s hand.
In the caption of her post, the former FDCP chairperson told her father that he was surrounded by prayers of countless people whose lives he’s touched. She also said that only God knows why things have come to an end.
Liza went on to express her love for her father and said that he’s always in her heart.
“You fought until the end; we all did. And you were surrounded by prayers of countless people whose lives you’ve touched,” she said. “Only God knows why, despite all the outpour of love and support, things have to come to an end—but for now, at least no more pain na papa ko.”

Hours after she shared a message for her father, Liza released a statement confirming the death of former DILG Undersecretary Martin Diño.
The former FDCP chairperson said in a statement posted on her social media account that her father suffered from acute respiratory failure and has been battling with stage IV cancer for over a year. According to her, her father “peacefully died” at 2:15 am on Tuesday and he was surrounded by his family.
