Martin Diño, the ex-DILG Usec and father of Liza Diño-Seguerra is in critical condition
MARTIN DIÑO – The former Department of Local and Interior Government (DILG) Undersecretary is in critical condition, said former chairperson of the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP), Liza Diño-Seguerra.
In her Instagram post on Monday, August 7, she provided an update on her father’s health condition. The post included a picture showing her mother tightly holding her father’s hand as he lies in a hospital bed.
Her post was accompanied by the caption: “Enduring love. A poignant moment where my mom’s hand holds not just my dad’s, but also years of hurt and healing. Despite his critical condition, her firm grip and resilience whispers strength…and forgiveness. Laban papa. Mahal ka namin.”
In another Instagram post, Liza shared a picture of her visit to her father on December 25, 2022, Christmas Day. She used the hashtag #momentswithmyfather. Liza admits that her father’s way of expressing love has been different, as she rarely receives gifts from him due to it not being his primary love language.
However, on this particular Christmas, he surprised her with an angpao (red envelope). It may have seemed like a simple gesture, but for Liza, it meant the world, as it was his way of showing his love and care for her.
Many prayers were sent for the swift recovery of the former DILG undersecretary. Meanwhile, it was just last month when the wife of singer Ice Seguerra revealed that her father, former Interior Undersecretary Martin Diño, is battling stage 4 cancer.
