Boy Abunda Halts Show After Health Scare of Comedian Boobay

Boobay “nag-hang” while being interviewed on Fast Talk With Boy Abunda

BOOBAY – The comedian Boobay caused alarm and panic among viewers during his live guesting on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda on Thursday afternoon, April 20, 2023, as he seemed to have suffered a stroke on-air.

Viewers suspected that Boobay might have had another stroke, and Boy quickly stopped their conversation when he noticed that the comedian was not reacting to his questions. Boy asked him about his feelings when he was told he was one of the finalists, but Boobay could only answer with repeated “ummm” sounds.

Boy thought that the comedian was just becoming emotional, but he became alarmed when he noticed that his guest’s behavior was not normal. Boy stood up from his seat to comfort and support Boobay while repeatedly asking if he was okay.

Despite being panicky, Boy informed the viewers of Boobay’s condition: “Kahapon po kasi Nay, Tay… tulungan lamang natin… ay medyo masama ang pakiramdam ni Boobay at… let’s take a break Direk. We’ll take care of Boobay…let’s take a short break… let’s take a short break.” Boy stopped the show and called medical personnel during the commercial break to check on Boobay’s condition.

When the show returned, Boobay appeared to be fine and explained what had happened to him. He said that during their taping for The Boobay and Tekla Show, he also had a slight “hang”, which was worsened by the bright lights. The doctor had warned him before that it could happen again, and the best thing to do was to stop and let his body recover.

Boobay had already experienced a stroke in November 2016, and he has episodes where he feels “nagha-hang.” Boy reminded him to take care of himself and also reminded the viewers to be mindful of their health.
