Boobay turns emotional while recalling his bout with mild stroke in 2016
BOOBAY – The Kapuso TV host and comedian admitted that he actually abused himself at work which caused his mild stroke in 2016.
He was confined at the hospital for a month and if he had not been rushed to the hospital by his ex-boyfriend, he might have been comatose.
That is why Boobay is very grateful to his former partner Kent Resquir who took care of him when he got ill.
Boobay opened up about his battle with mild stroke in an episode of “Eat Bulaga.” He said that he already felt some symptoms at that time but he only disregard them.
Kent was said to be the first to notice the symptoms of a stroke, prompting him to rush the comedian to the hospital.
“Kaya dumaan din ako doon sa MRI, para buhayin yung dugo ko kasi naipitan ako eh,” he said.
“Pero kung pumutok daw yun, malamang daw hindi na ako makakapagpatawa, hindi na ako makakapag-perform, eh yun yung pangarap ko eh,” he added.
Fortunately, he was able to survive that episode of his life and continued with his passion in the field of hosting and comedy.

Meanwhile, it was July this year, when the Kapuso comedian and his boyfriend Kent, a physiotherapist based in Australia, confirmed their separation after an almost a decade relationship.
Boobay whose real name is Norman Balbuena rose to fame as one of the hosts of The Boobay and Tekla Show (TBATS) alongside Romeo Librada aka Super Tekla.
