Doctor & Nurse in Batangas Hospital Test Positive for COVID-19
BATANGAS HOSPITAL – The provincial hospital in Lemery is placed under lockdown after a doctor and a nurse tested positive for COVID-19.
The fight against COVID-19 in the Philippines is not over. Every day, there is still an increase on the total cases confirmed in the country. Both death and recovery records also increase. Meanwhile, the spike on the latter is notable.
Currently, the Department of Health (DOH) has recorded a total of 26,781 cases of coronavirus in the country. The total deaths is at 1,103 while the total recoveries is at 6,552.

The entire Philippines is still under a community quarantine now. Cebu City which has a huge number of cases is back under the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) while the General Community Quarantine (GCQ) in Metro Manila is extended.
Recently, in Batangas, a doctor and a nurse tested positive for COVID-19. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, it prompted the local government to place the Batangas hospital under a lockdown.
The said provincial hospital is found in Lemery. According to Mayor Larry Alilio, the doctor and nurse who tested positive for coronavirus are not residents of Batangas.
According to the report, sanitation and disinfection will be conducted inside the hospital. The patients who are confined will have to stay inside the hospital and undergo a COVID-19 test.
Those patients who will test positive for coronavirus will be allowed to be discharged. They have to undergo a 14-day home quarantine in an isolation facility in their barangay.
Contact tracing is now done. Currently, there are 31 suspected cases of COVID-19 in Lemery and one (1) active case after three (3) patients have already recovered from the disease.
