A restaurant in Baguio was placed in hot water after charging P75 for a cup of rice
P70 PER CUP OF RICE?! – A netizen couldn’t help but express his disappointment on the price of a one cup of rice at the restaurant where he ate in Baguio City.
According to the netizen who refused to be named, he already had assumptions that the dishes served in the said resto were quiet expensive but when he saw the price of the extra rice he ordered, he was shocked. Based on the receipt, one cup of rice cost as much as seventy five pesos (P75).
His complaint generated mixed reactions from the netizens. One netizen asked for the name of the restaurant, for the public to be aware. Another netizen commented that the next time, the customer might bring his own rice because it’s too expensive. The netizen noted that it would have been better if the rice of the resto were unlimited.
It can be deduced that the P75 per cup of rice in the unnamed resto is much more expensive compared to famous restaurants in the country. Apparently, the resto has yet to issue any statement as to why their extra rice cost that much.
Meanwhile, overpricing has become a hot topic on social media. One of the most recent is the rant of actor-comedian Dennis Padilla.
On Instagram, he posted a video wherein he expressed his disappointment at Aling Mahrya seafood restaurant located at Seaside in Pasay City. According to him, their bill reached more than P38,000 pesos. Among the meals they ordered were mango shake that cost P650 and lobster for P5,500 per kilo.
