Jennylyn Mercado is a singer, songwriter, and actress. She was the first-season winner of the reality talent show StarStruck.

Mercado rose to prominence as an actress on television and in films at a young age. She was in a number of commercially successful films, including English Only, Please, The Prenup, Walang Forever, and Just the Three of Us.

Mercado has released three albums with GMA Records and Viva Records, with several popular singles including “Sa Aking Panaginip,” “Moments Of Love” in collaboration with Janno Gibbs, “Basta’t Nandito Ka,” and “Kahit Sandali.”

In 2017, Mercado starred in the Philippine remake of My Love from the Star. Mercado’s success in Philippine cinema has elevated her to the status of “Ultimate Star.”

Recently, she went to the social media platform, Instagram wherein she called out the popular supermarket S&R after the meat she allegedly bought from them looked bad.

On Instagram Stories, the actress-vlogger posted a photo of meat she allegedly purchased from S&R. She confronted the supermarket directly about its meat by tagging it on its official Instagram account. She wrote: “quick question lang bago namin lutuin, safe parin ba kahit ganito itchura ng meat niyo???”

Meanwhile, S&R Membership Shopping is a Philippine chain of membership-only retail warehouse clubs. As of November 2021, it had 22 branches. The first branch, in Bonifacio Global City, opened in 2001.
