Jinkee Pacquiao Turns Bodyguard Umbrella Bashing Into a Viral Joke

Jinkee Pacquiao answers critics of a video showing her bodyguard holding an umbrella over her, then posts a playful group skit

JINKEE PACQUIAO UMBRELLA – Jinkee Pacquiao has found a lighthearted way to deal with netizens who mocked her over a short clip of her bodyguard holding an umbrella above her head, posting a playful group video on Friday, October 30, 2026, after first explaining her side.

The clip, dated October 17, 2026, was one of the many pickleball videos Jinkee regularly shares on her Facebook page. It showed her stepping out of the family’s home in General Santos City as a bodyguard quickly opened an umbrella over her, even though it was not raining. The pavement was wet, but some viewers pointed out that the gym where she plays was only a short walk away.

The comments poured in. Some users joked that she no longer knew how to hold her own umbrella now that she is rich, while others compared her to a princess with a personal umbrella holder.

In a video posted on October 28, the wife of boxing legend and former senator Manny Pacquiao addressed the issue. “Na-bash kami sa payung-payong. Hindi po namin intensiyon na payungan ako doon,” she said.

Jinkee said it was the guard who insisted on shading her and that she did not even notice he kept the umbrella up all the way to the gym. “O.A. lang yung bodyguard ko,” she said with a laugh, adding that she would have asked him why he was using an umbrella when it was not raining.

She also cleared up why she has a bodyguard at all. “Ni-assign yun ni Manny,” she said, stressing that she never asked for one herself.

Two days later, Jinkee went a step further. In her new video, she and about a dozen companions walked down a road in pairs, with one person in each pair holding an umbrella over the other. The group chanted “Ang payong!” while Jinkee shouted, “Ayusin ang pagpayong!”

One of her friends even thanked the critics for the idea. “Thank you sa mga basher, ha. Nagpayong kami,” the companion said, as the group burst into laughter.

The clip ended with Jinkee saying “Thank you sa mga props,” making it clear that the group meant to turn the online issue into a light moment.
